Robots in Everyday Life

The sphere of  the activity
     

    It is envisaged, within the framework of the project, to get engaged   youth interested in robotics in the sphere of technological entrepreneurship. It is envisaged to rise through the project the interest of young engineers towards robotics.
One of the main goals of the implementation of the idea of competition is the promotion of the creation of companies in Armenia, which are dealing with the sphere of robotics.
It is envisaged, within the framework of the program, to study the necessity of   automatic systems in other sectors and the possibilities of its introduction. A possibility shall be provided to the participants to direct their ideas to the respective sectors, based on the identified problems.  It is also envisaged to ensure the involvement of the respective organizations in the process of implementation of the arrangements.

 Arrangements

    Since 2008 the Union had promoted and  facilitated the creation of development of the robotics sector in Armenia. Until today the competitions among the robots having different applications and groups for school students are being organized within the framework of ArmRobotics.

    For 2013 the Union had initiated “Robots in Everyday Life” idea competition, within  the framework of which the participants shall present their ideas, later the ideas shall be transformed into technical design projects and finally into real devices.
It is planned also, within the framework of the program, to conduct marketing studies of  domestic  and international markets of the sector. It is envisaged to implement respective professional training courses for all participants.  The trainings shall be carried out by Armenian and foreign leading experts.
During the last stage the participants shall present their ideas and robots at  DigiTech Expo annual exhibition.
    
The idea competition shall include the following  stages:


•   The first stage implies the registration of  the participants
•   During the second stage the participants shall present their ideas. In this stage the best ideas shall be selected. After this stage a program management training course shall be carried out   for the project  participants  
•   During the third stage the participants shall present the design projects of their devices. As a result of this stage the best participants shall be selected, which shall receive components   for their robots.
•   During the fourth  stage the competition jury shall select the teams for the following nominations: “The best engineering solution”, The best business solution”, “The best design project” .

 

Anticipated results :


•    Identify and create teams, companies dealing with robotics
•    Facilitate the creation and activity of robotics sector companies in Armenia
•   Ensure the communication between the organizations representing other sectors and the sector of robotics
•   Engage the youth dealing with engineering sector into the sphere of technological entrepreneurship
•    Rise  the   level of professional skills of the participants



Participants

Anyone, who have ideas connected with robotics sector can participate in the competition. The competition “Robots in Everyday Life”  has  neither age, nor professional limits.

Target groups
Students and postgraduate students, young engineers and economists, persons interested by the sector.
